Chiropractor – Mark Jessop

Our Chiropractor Mark is passionate about decreasing the burden musculoskeletal problems have on our society. With a special interest and expertise in the field of back pain management and spinal pain.

“Pain can have a huge effect on peoples quality of life. Empowering people to lead more fulfilling lives without pain holding them back is something that is very important to me.”

University Education

Mark has always had a keen interest in science, the human body and sport which led him to pursue a degree in Chemistry and Sports Science. Which he completed at the world renowned Loughborough University, regarded as one of the best in the world for Sport Science.

“This gave me a great understanding of human physiology. It is where I first began to learn the importance of exercise and diet and it’s relationship to health. It’s what ignited my passion in this area”

Mark was a keen athlete competing at a high level in athletics. Winning numerous county championships for both sprint hurdles and 400m hurdles and breaking the county championship record at the time.  It was actually an injury sustained whilst training that led Mark to seek out the services of a Chiropractor

“I was really impressed by the knowledge of the Chiropractor and how quickly he got me out of pain and back training again.  The techniques used were fascinating and as I began to learn a little more about Chiropractic I started to consider it as a career choice. I haven’t looked back since “

After completing his first degree he went on to do a 4 year Masters Degree to become a Chiropractor. In his first year of practice he completed a Post graduate Training Scheme with the College of Chiropractors leading to the recognition of the title Doctor of Chiropractic.

Continuing Development

Mark has attended many courses, post graduate conferences and seminars to enhance his clinic skills. These have included medical acupuncture, the McKenzie method, Therapeutic neuroscience education interventions, graded motor imagery and many others

As well and attending these post graduate seminars and conferences he has completed further University based post graduate qualifications. Gaining a distinction for a post graduate certificate in clinical development. He has a strong interest in research and completed an evidence based practice masters module and presented his research at international conferences.

These qualifications led to recognition from the Royal College of Chiropractors accepting him as a full member and also a full member of the specialist pain faculty. He is also a member of the British Chiropractic Association and is registered with the General Chiropractic Council.

Mark has vast experience as a Chiropractor and has worked with Professional athletes, including MK Dons and Lincoln City football teams,  helping them to achieve  optimal performance. However his true passion lies in helping people lead more fulfilling lives without pain interfering. This has led to him developing an educational training academy teaching people about pain and how they can help themselves.

In his spare time Mark enjoys keeping fit and spending time with his family. He has two Children, Lois and Arthur, who keep him very busy and entertained! He also likes to spend time in the garden, tending to his vegetable patch.

Meet the team - Katie Wright Sports Massage Therapist
Sports Massage Therapist – Katie Wright

Before working at Prime Therapy Clinic Katie worked at several triathlon events including the Outlaw Ironman in Nottingham. Although she enjoys doing sports massage on athletes Katie also loves to see the positive impact massage can have on everyone. Muscular tension and aches and pains can accumulate due to everyday demands from busy lifestyles, not just sport.

“I like to work closely with each client to ensure that they get the most out of their treatment and tailor the massage depending on an individual needs and preferences. Massage can be a great complement to Chiropractic treatment or delivered on its own”

When Katie is not doing massage she works as the Clinic Manager and enjoys working alongside the reception team. At home she enjoys spending time with her two young children and loves being out in the garden.
